Here's to the 24 Hour Comics People!

At Miss Prothero's Books, we weren't sure how the 24 Hour Comics People book release and reading party would work. Who would come? Just the contributing artists? If non-artists came would they appreciate the work that went to creating a 24 page comic in 24 hours? And how would the reading work? After all, we weren't just dealing with text.

We shouldn't have worried so. The party was wonderful. What a great February 1st! We haven't had such a large since we had the art opening for abstract artist Barney Jones. Stan Yan of Squid Works conducted people through the door and to the book. We nearly sold out. (There are only two copies left! Better hurry in if you want one.) When the reading commenced, there were enough books distributed through the room that folks could hear the words and follow along with the pictures. And those who were not contributing artists loved it.

Marty and Nancy Linnet enjoy Michael O'Keefe's reading.

Eric Porter of Porterrific Design considers Craig Gassen's pages.
